This handcarved wooden elephant bottle opener comes from Kitui County in Kenya, which is home to Tsavo East National Park and the South Kitui National Reserve. Wood carving in Kenya goes back over 100 years, and is originally based on carving techniques from Tanzania and Mozambique. The carvers work in a cooperative, and legally harvest native olive trees which are used to make beautiful products such as this bottle opener.
